Sue has sent photos of her Luna Lapins, scroll down the page for the Luna Gallery.
Evelyn has sent in an email from Sewhot with lots of lovely ideas in it. My favourite is a YouTube video which show a very neat thing to do with an empty thread spool.

|
Also from Sewhot is a link to a site offering a free printout which I think would make a great quilting design, or for colouring.
|
There is also a pattern from the Kaffe Fassett Studio at Freespirit fabrics for a Japanese Knot Bag (similar to one we were shown how to make a year or so ago) This one has Knatha stitching and is pieced in wonderful colours

From Elaine
Looking for some "small sewing"? Why not sew for our Sales Table at the Exhibition? Below is a list of ideas, some of which we've made before.
No need to make lots of items, one or two is OK if that's what you have material/time for. Much better to make a couple of special things to tempt fellow quilters than loads that they would rather make themselves.
Also adding some pictures of items I've already tried out. More to come as I make them.
. Zipped pouches (tutorial at The Sewing Chick if you need one)
. Childrens art folders( made mine up after looking on Pinterest at "my little crea")
. Peg bags
. Microwave bowl cosies
. Covered books
. Special pincushions / needlecases
If you google any idea with 'on pinterest' you can find lots of examples, or try youtube.

The Patchwork Basket - Newent
Dear Customer
We have tried to stay open and continue with business as usual this week. However, it has become obvious to us that keeping adequate social distancing in the shop is really difficult when there are a few customers here. We care about you and I would hate to think that anyone got sick through a visit to my shop. Therefore, we have made the decision to shut the shop to the public from 5pm on Tuesday 24th March. So, we will be open on Tuesday from 10am to 5pm. Then the door will be locked but we are not closing completely. Read on... We will be here, as normal, but behind closed doors. You can make an appointment to come in and shop if you wish. This will help us control footfall in the shop. Call us on 01531 822442 or email me at [email protected] to make an appointment. We can also take your orders by phone. These can be posted out to you, delivered locally or kept here for you to collect. Finally, I am looking at developing the website, so that you can shop online. Bear with me on this, I'm on a steep learning curve! I'm looking at using Zoom for online classes. I'll use this first for my existing classes then hope to roll it out for classes in the summer term. We will also be setting up a Patchwork Basket Social page on Facebook. This will be a closed group that customers can use to share ideas on projects, photos of what you're doing in isolation and generally chatting about sewing. As the social side of this shop is the heart of the business, we don't want to lose that connection to you all. We are going to miss the fun we have with you all and will do what we can to keep in touch and keep you all chatting. It's going to be a weird few months so let's try to find the positive and keep our spirits up. I will keep you posted on developments. Thank you all for your support. It's been lovely to see so many of your here this week. We are not going away. We love this shop and really want it to survive this difficult time. Please remember us and keep in touch. Hopefully, we will see you all again soon when we emerge from isolation. I can't wait to see what you've all made. Take care of yourselves and each other. |
A website for left-handed stichers where you will find lots of tutorial videos, it will be interesting for all those of you who hand sew; even if you are right handed!
