An internationally renowned teacher Ineke will lead a one day workshop trying out the many different things you can do with Lutradur – an industrial spun polyester fabric that can be painted, printed, melted and stitched. Students bring their own landscape inspiration picture and we work and explore that using different weights of Lutradur and combining it with fabrics.
An internationally renowned teacher, Shirley will get us started with Hydrangeas - an introduction to hand applique. Students can either start on the full design or choose to make samples of the techniques. Shirley's workshops also include lots of tips and techniques for needle turned applique so even those who have some experience will find plenty of new ideas. Perfect your technique and don’t be afraid of Hand Applique!
Go to the Talks and Workshops page on Shirley's website to see a picture of 'Hydrangeas'.

Saturday, 7th November - Workshop: Dawn Cameron Dick 'Invisible Machine Applique' www.dawncamerondick.com
Dawn says "Would you like a soft, traditional looking applique but cannot face doing it by hand?
Then Invisible Machine Applique is for you! No bonding web or satin stitch and almost any sewing machine can do it.
In this class we do not make a specific project. I feel it is best to learn without the added stress of making an item look good and get it finished. We all have enough UFO's !!
First, I help everyone set up their machine to produce a perfect invisible stitch. During this process most people find they learn a lot about their machines.
I explain which needles, threads and feet to use.
Then we make several different shapes so everyone can make samples of how to turn under their edges ready to applique.
It is a fun stress free workshop that every quilter will benefit from."
